How do I stop rot around outdoor lights?
The biggest mistake I see is people cutting holes in treated timber and not sealing the cut. Any time you drill or cut your soffit for a cable or light fitting, dab some end-grain preservative or paint on the bare wood. It stops water soaking into the grain and lifting the finish.
Are fire-rated downlights necessary for a summerhouse?
